DESIGN CONSULTATIONS

Design consultations are best suited for homeowners that have an idea of what they want to accomplish in their homes, but would like our expert opinion to help steer you in the right direction.

WHO DOES A DESIGN CONSULTATION BEST SERVE?

  •  …and you would like our thoughts on whether the home if a good fit for you based on your design aesthetic?

     ….and you are considering a renovation to that home but would like our advice on whether or not you can achieve those design goals with this home?

  •  …on the floor plan with the furniture you currently have?

     … on what other pieces we would suggest you add to round out the space?

     …. what we would do to elevate the space?

  •  …and you are interested in opening up walls or reconfiguring a layout and would like help conceptualizing?

     …maybe you are wanting to remodel a kitchen, bathroom or other room but unsure if your goals can be achieved in the allotted space?

  • …and want help with space planning, style and vendor guidance?

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE CONSULTATION

    • We will talk through your goals, wants and need for each space. How you want to live in the home (casual, formal, love to entertain, etc)

    • Discuss who lives in the house (how many adults, kids, pets, older parents, etc)

    • analyze your design aesthetic

    • review storage and organizational dilemmas

    • Floor plan layout

    • Wall treatments: recommendations on where we would recommend paint, wallpaper or moulding

    • Furniture and decor suggestions

    • Stores and brands: recommendations on where to source products to achieve your goals

    • Cabinetry and built-ins: where would we add them and why

    • Styling: essential items we use to style a living room/dining room/etc; how we style a bed; our favorite organizational items, etc

    • Construction & remodeling: suggestions on how to improve your home based on your concerns

READY TO GET STARTED?

    • A design consultation includes up to 3 hours of time on site or via zoom.

    • Travel time is included. If your location is beyond a 60 mile radius from our studio in The Plains, VA there will be an additional charge

    • The charge for a design consultation is $800.

    • We only do a few consultations a month. If you are interested in setting up an appointment, please email us at info@chouxdesigns.com and we will share a link to our calendar to reserve a time

    • Upon receipt of your reservation, we will send an invoice to remit payment which is to be paid in full to officially book the consultation.

HOMEWORK

    • write out a list of all the questions/concerns/issues

    • gather inspiration photos to share with us (on your phone, computer, pinterest, instagram, print outs, etc) that will help give us an idea of your design aesthetic.

    • have on hand any photos of any special furniture pieces you have that you would like to include in your home but don’t know where or how to best showcase

    • review any key pieces you have that may guide us in the direction of your space: swatches of materials, rugs, paint colors you like, artwork you want to use, etc.

    • Upon receipt of your reservation, we will send an invoice for you to remit payment which is to be paid in full to officially book the consultation.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • o You are able to cancel or reschedule your consultation up to 48 hours before our appointment for a full refund. If you cancel your consultation within 48 hours of the time your consultation is due to begin, you will be charged in full out of respect for our time. To cancel a consultation, email us atinfo@chouxdesigns.com

    • Did we discuss all of your questions and concerns, but we wrapped up sooner than 3 hours? We bill for our time booked and we will not issue a refund for unused time so be sure to think through and jot down everything you might want to ask us to make the most of our 3 hours together.

    • Have you carefully read the above, understand what to expect from the design consultation and done your homework before we arrived? If so, we know you will be very satisfied with our consultation and you will walk away with ideas on how best to move forward with your project/s

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE CONSULTATION?

  • o Generally speaking no, but we are happy to discuss how we can serve you as a full service interior design client.

  • YES!

    • We design and sell cabinets through CDS Cabinet Co. You do not have to be a full service design client to work with us on your cabinetry needs.

    • What if I want to order furniture, lighting, cabinet hardware, rugs, accessories etc?

      • All design consultation clients will receive a discount code to shop our online Marketplace: by Choux Designs
