FORT HUNT COLONIAL

A refresh project where we incorporated our client’s heirloom furniture, elevated existing textiles and upholstery, refreshed rooms with new wallpaper and fixtures, and upgraded the look and feel of the space by adding in new unique finds to round out the old and the new.
Let’s walk through…
In the living room, we used an existing sofa and side table and made the heirloom armoire a focal point in the room. We embellished white curtain panels the client had already purchased with a trim on the leading edge and sourced new hardware. We kept the chair rail but elevated it with additional moulding below; adding grasscloth above. We framed art found by the client on a past trip abroad and sourced a colorful tapestry for the large opposing wall. Most importantly we sourced upholstered pieces with performance fabrics so the space can be used as much as it is admired. A once hardly used living room is now a new favorite space to enjoy a glass of wine and conversation.
In the dining room we added hostess chairs for texture and comfort, incorporated a beautiful light fixture that was both feminine but stately, and rounded out the space with new art, lighting, and a oversized buffet.
In the Mudroom we refreshed with wallpaper and moved around some fixtures and furnishings to highlight the family photos that we had framed by exaggerating the matting to highlight the beautiful family that calls this house a home. We really got to put exercise our creativity on this project and the beauty is all in the details.
